The North Devon Area

Otter Pool Barn is within easy driving distance of Ilfracombe’s historic harbour and boutique restaurants, the endless sandy beaches at Woolacombe, Croyde and Saunton and also has easy access to the historic market town of Barnstaple, with its train station and large shopping area.

The Big Sheep

Situated on the North Devon coast two miles west of Bideford, The Big Sheep is known as one of the best family tourist attractions in Devon. As well as childrens’ activities there’s fun for adults too. On top of the attractions for children, there is also a brewery, a shop and a restaurant.

Braunton Countryside Centre

Paint a Pot

Choose from a wide selection of white ware plates, bowls and other ornaments and then get painting. The studio, paints and palettes are well maintained and the staff are very helpful. Collect your pot fresh from the kiln a few days later or pay a little extra to have it sent home.

RHS Rosemoor

Enjoy the extensive formal gardens, arboretum and woodlands. There are regular events on throughout the year for all ages and levels of gardening expertise. All the facilities and almost all the the grounds are fully wheelchair accessible and the staff are very willing to meet the varied needs of visitors. The restaurant is definitely worth a visit while you are there.

Woolacombe Beach

Three miles of clean golden sand, voted the best beach in the UK (Trip Advisor). Clean water and flat sand make this beach ideal for people of any age and swimming ability. Take a body board to play in the waves in shallow water or a surf board for the deeper waves. Three lifeguarded areas provide safe areas for swimming. The village is just off the beach and has plenty of places to eat and shop.

Barnstaple Town Centre

Barnstaple’s historic centre, either side of the Taw Estuary is well worth a visit. With historic buildings, a museums and an excellent theatre, there is much more to do than just visit the shops. There are excellent restaurants, serving all types of food and the Pannier Market in the centre of the shopping area has antique fairs, farmer’s markets and general markets on different days of the week.
